Well, hello there! Thanks for stopping by. My name’s Sarah, and I’ve called San Francisco home since I was a babe in arms (there was that 10-year Minnesota stint during adolescence, which unfortunately didn’t help with my lack of tolerance for cold). I started Sanfranista in 2012 when I was working full-time as a therapist and needed an outlet to explore another side of myself.
I kept Sanfranista alive and well until mid-2014, when a major life change found me low on desire to go out and about, and coming up short with inspiration. In the three years since my dad passed away, I’ve gone through major personal growth, from a career change to crazy medical fun to the quietly growing confidence that sometimes comes with your age starting with a 3 instead of a 2.
Now, as 2018 begins, I have a new lease on life. Expect much of Sanfranista to hold true, from bad puns to my love of San Francisco and obsession with all black. But expect some broader content as well, from my lens on local trends to design, dining, and an inside look on how the city has changed over time. I hope you like what you read, but either way, please do stay in touch.
